LVCI To Bring Pretty Fire Play Production to Ord

The Loup Valley Childhood Initiative (LVCI) is honored to partner with the Crane River Theater Company, a theater production company in Kearney, NE, to offer the Pretty Fire play production in Ord, a show described by New York Newsday as “inspiring, illuminating, and engrossing.”

A profound celebration of life, Pretty Fire challenges audiences to listen, feel and soar in joy! Playwright Charlayne Woodard shares her experiences as a young African-American girl with stories of family and faith. The result is a powerful message of love and healing. This one-woman show stars the talented Marika Gray, a native of Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

The event will take place on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at 6:30 pm at The Golden Husk, 129 South 16th Street, in Downtown Ord. The event is free and open to the public. The play also offers two required education hours for licensed childcare providers.

The Loup Valley Childhood Initiative is a network focused on providing high-quality childcare through innovation, community partnerships and helping local childcare providers thrive as businesses. Bringing this play production to Central Nebraska will ignite thought-provoking perspectives on embracing one another’s differences and recognizing others’ lived experiences. Taking these themes of compassion and inclusion and teaching and modeling them in the various environments where our youngest community members spend time - their homes, childcare facilities, and schools - ultimately helps create quality environments for our children to grow and thrive.
